Blockbuster franchise producer Skydance Media is getting into the animation business and have just set release dates for their first two animated films – “Luck” on February 18th 2022 and “Spellbound” on November 11th 2022.
The Skydance Animation features will be co-financed and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Peggy Holmes helms “Luck” which follows the unluckiest girl alive who, teaming with some magical creatures, uncovers a force more powerful than even luck itself.
“Spellbound” is set in a world of magic where a young girl must break the spell that has split her kingdom in two. “Shrek” director Vicky Jensen and producer David Lipman are re-teaming for the film which will have songs by Alan Menken.
Along with their first feature films, Skydance Animation is working on a slate of high-end television shows to be announced soon.
