Tim Federle has been set to direct while Madhuri Shekar (“Evil Eye,” “The Nevers”) will pen the script for a third instalment in the “Sister Act” comedy franchise for Disney.
Whoopi Goldberg will reprise her role as Deloris, the nightclub singer forced to go into hiding from the mob as a nun. Goldberg and Tyler Perry will produce the new take but plot specifics are under wraps.
Federle created “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and co-wrote the animated feature “Ferdinand”. His recent early cut of Lisa Kudrow-led comedy feature “Better Nate Than Ever” got such a good response from Disney execs it reportedly helped him land this gig.
