“Shang-Chi” star Simu Liu is in negotiations to join Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and America Ferrera in the “Barbie” movie at Warner Bros. Pictures.
Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach penned the script for the long-gestating project and Gerwig is set to direct. All that’s known plotwise is that Robbie is playing Barbie and Gosling is playing Ken in the film.
Robbie, Tom Ackerley, Robbie Brenner and David Heyman are producing. Liu previously starred in the long-running “Kim’s Convenience” series and has the films “One True Loves” and “Arthur The King” on the way.
