Shudder Nabs Horror “Skinamarink”

The microbudget horror feature “Skinamarink,” which has scored rave reviews since debuting at this year’s Fantasia International Film Festival, has been acquired by horror streamer Shudder.

Kyle Edward Ball penned and directed the film, which will additionally receive a theatrical run via IFC Midnight on January 13th, followed by a debut on Shudder later in 2023.

The story begins as two young children wake up in the middle of the night to find their father is missing, and all the windows and doors in their home have vanished.

To cope with the strange situation, the two bring pillows and blankets to the living room and settle into a quiet slumber party situation, watching worn videotapes of cartoons to distract from the frightening and inexplicable situation.

The hope is that eventually some grown-ups will come to rescue them, but after a while it becomes clear that they’re not alone in this house.

Lucas Paul, Dali Rose Tetreault, Ross Paul and Jaime Hill star in the film which mixes atmospheric horror with a lo-fi retro-found footage feel. The trailer for the film can be seen below:
