Showtime has acquired the NASA-centric comedy “Moonbase 8” starring Fred Armisen, John C. Reilly and Tim Heidecker.
The trio play three subpar astronauts living at NASA’s Moon Base Simulator in Arizona with the hopes of being chosen to travel to the moon.
A series of unexpected circumstances forces the astronauts to question their own mental sanity, trust in each other and whether or not they’re cut out for space travel.
The six-episode first season, which the trio co-created and executive produce alongside Jonathan Krisel (“Baskets”), is set to premiere sometime this Fall.
