Showtime Sets “Yellowjackets” S2 Premiere

Showtime

Showtime has announced a Friday March 24th streaming/on-demand premiere and a Sunday, March 26th on-air premiere date for the second season of its much buzzed-about drama “Yellowjackets”.

The first season received universal acclaim, seven Emmy nominations, and an average of more than five million weekly viewers across platforms – becoming the second-most streamed series in Showtime history.

Currently in production in Vancouver, the second season continues the saga of a team of high school girls soccer players who become the unlucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness and tracking the survivors’ lives nearly 25 years later.

Recently series regular Sophie Nelisse told Variety that the new season gets far more disturbing than the first:

“There’s scenes in Season 2 that are graphic, to say the least, and I remember just doing it, and [the cast] all sat and looked at each other, and we were like ‘What the f— are we doing. Like, literally, what the f— are we doing. You’ll look at it, and you’ll understand, but I don’t think you’ve ever seen such a scene in TV before.”

Lauren Ambrose and Simone Kessell have joined the second season as series regulars, whilst Elijah Wood has landed a season-long guest arc.
