Taylor Sheridan is reportedly stepping in as showrunner on the Paramount+ series “Lioness,” replacing Thomas Brady (“NOS4A2”) who was originally attached.
According to Variety, Brady was present throughout the show’s writers room but once it wrapped, creative differences led to the producers and Brady agreeing to part ways amicably.
“Yellowstone” creator Sheridan, who executive produces “Lionness” and co-created the series, will now take over showrunning duties.
The series will follow Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine, recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within.
Zoe Saldana will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program tasked with training, managing and leading her female undercover operatives trained to infiltrate terrorist and criminal networks.
Production on the show is now slated to begin in September.
