Charlie Sheen will reunite with his “Two and a Half Men” producer Chuck Lorre for the new Warner Bros. TV-produced Max comedy “How to Be a Bookie”.
Sheen will have a recurring part on the show which is led by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The reunion comes some twelve years after Sheen was fired from ‘Men’ in 2011 and seemingly burned his bridges with Lorre on the way out.
Maniscalco plays a veteran L.A. bookie struggling to survive the impending legalization of sports gambling, increasingly unstable clients, family, co-workers, and a lifestyle that bounces him around every part of the city.
Omar J. Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, Jorge Garcia and Maxim Swinton also star. Lorre is writing with frequent collaborator Nick Bakay. Lorre, Bakay, Mansicalco and Judi Marmel executive produce.
Lorre recently shopped around a script about his time on “Two and a Half Men” titled “Sex, Drugs and a Sitcom” – however no streamer or network has seemed to pick it up.
Sheen subsequently expressed regret over his actions and desired to make amends with Lorre. Sheen recently appeared in FX’s “Anger Management,” the 2015 feature film “9/11” and on ABC’s “The Goldbergs”.
