Shawn Ashmore, who has already dabbled with the superhero genre playing Iceman in the “X-Men” films, has joined the cast of the second season of Amazon Prime’s “The Boys”.
Ashmore will appear in the darkly comic superhero series as the pyrokinetic-powered Lamplighter, a former superstar member of the Seven before he left under mysterious circumstances. His departure created the opportunity that allowed Starlight to join the team.
Lamplighter also ties in directly to the Boys’ tragic history as he is the reason they broke up eight years ago. His re-appearance dredges up painful memories and “changes everything.”
It’s not clear how many episodes he’ll appear in. The second season premieres Friday September 4th with the first three episodes followed by a weekly rollout through October 9th.
