“Mortal Kombat” star Lewis Tan has cryptically teased that his character of alien superhero Shatterstar from “Deadpool 2” could be back in the upcoming third entry.
Tan’s character was one of several recruited by Deadpool for a key sequence in the film, the gag being this ‘X-Force’ team meet their demise whilst parachuting out of a plane and before they even started the mission.
Tan’s character met his death in the rotating blades of a helicopter which turned him into green liquid mulch. The rumor began after Hugh Jackman announced he was returning to play Wolverine in the film.
Tan replied with an emoji-filled tweet suggesting “Deadpool 2” wasn’t going to be Shatterstar’s end either. Then over the weekend, he teased a “Deadpool 3” return again with another emoji-heavy tweet.
No-one seems clear whether he’s teasing or trolling at this point, but Tan has a history with Marvel. He auditioned for both “Shang-Chi” and “Iron Fist,” and landed a single-episode role in the latter as Zhou Cheng.
