Sharon Stone has joined the growing cast of the film adaptation of the DC Comic title “Blue Beetle” for HBO Max.
The “Basic Instinct” actress will reportedly be playing the role of the villain Victoria Kord in the Angel Manuel Soto-directed, Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer scripted film.
The character has been created for the movie but has ties to an existing one, believed to be the wife of Ted Kord who is the second variation of the Blue Beetle in DC lore.
Xolo Mariduena (“Cobra Kai”) stars as Jaime Reyes, a working-class El Paso teenager devoted to his family and with no connections to superheroes who finds a mysterious scarab half-buried in a disused lot.
The scarab comes alive and grafts itself to the base of Jaime’s spine and provided him with a suit of extraterrestrial armour that can be modified to enhance his speed and strength, as well as to create weapons, wings and shields.
George Lopez, Adrianna Barraza, Harvey Guillen, Bruna Marquezine, Damian Alcazar, Belissa Escobedo, and Elpidia Carrillo also star. John Rickard is producing the film which will be released theatrically on August 18th next year.
