Sony Pictures have picked up Tony Jaswinski’s spec script “In the Deep” after a vigorous bidding battle.
The story takes place on a isolated beach where a twenty something woman, having just lost her mother, is surfing.
Her world soon turns to terror, however, when she finds herself stranded just twenty yards from shore and with a great white shark in the water below her.
The project is being billed as “127 Hours meets Jaws with a dash of Gravity”. Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem will produce.
