Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon are attached to star in a new telemovie adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic novel “Fahrenheit 451” for HBO.
The story is set in a future where visual media has become the opiate for the masses. History has been outlawed and ‘firemen’ don’t put out fires – they burn books.
Jordan will play Guy Montag, a young fireman who forsakes his world, battles his mentor and struggles to regain his humanity. Shannon will play Beatty, Montag;s fireman captain and mentor.
Jordan will also serve as an executive producer alongside Sarah Green, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen and Ramin Bahrani. Bahrani will direct the project and is co-writing with Amir Naderi.
