Warner Bros. Pictures has issued press releases for their 2022 line-up, releases that contain two eyebrow-raising bits of DC movie casting news.

First up, it has been confirmed that Michael Shannon and Antje Traue have joined the cast of Andy Muschietti’s “The Flash” movie.

The pair played General Zod and his right-hand woman Faora-Ul in 2013’s “Man of Steel,” a movie that shares the same cinematic universe as “The Flash” film which suggests they’re reprising their roles. However what characters they are playing is not indicated in the release.

“The Flash” film also has Michael Keaton reprising his Burton-era Bruce Wayne/Batman role in the movie, but it turns out that may not be the only time we’ll see him in the DCEU.

A press release for HBO Max’s “Batgirl” film confirms Keaton is on board for that film as well which stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon. Specifics of his role weren’t indicated in the release.

“The Flash” has wrapped filming and is set to hit theaters on November 4th 2022, while “Batgirl” is currently in production in Scotland ahead of a late 2022 HBO Max premiere.
