Shakman To Helm Cambridge Analytica Film

Regular TV helmer Matt Shakman (“Game of Thrones,” “Fargo”) is in talks to direct the untitled Cambridge Analytica movie currently in the works at Joe and Anthony Russo’s AGBO Films.

The story centers around Christopher Wylie, the pink-haired data consultant who hatched the idea of the data analytics firm Cambridge Analytica which illegally harvested the personal data of 87 million Facebook users in order to influence the last presidential election and the Brexit vote.

Wylie’s guilty conscience led him to become a whistleblower and tell his story, both in court and in the press. AGBO has acquired Carole Cadwalladr’s article in The Guardian qhich serves as the catalyst for this project.

Scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (“Avengers: Endgame”) penned the script for the project which is all financed and ready to go, though awaiting the easing of production restrictions.

David Gordon Green had been in talks to direct before shooting the two new “Halloween” sequels back-to-back at Blumhouse and Universal. The Russo brothers are producing alongside Mike Larocca.
