The second season of “Severance” landed the most nominations at this year’s Television Critics Association Awards, the Apple TV+ title leading the pack with five nominations followed by “Adolescence,” “Hacks,” “The Pitt” and “The Studio” with four. Winners will be announced later in the summer.
The TCA’s are unique in that not only do they hand out awards split along best drama, comedy and mini-series, they also include a ‘Program of the Year’ award which covers efforts from all three categories.
This year’s Program of the Year nominees are “Adolescence,” “Andor,” “Hacks,” “The Pitt,” “The Rehearsal,” “Severance,” “The Studio” and “The White Lotus”.
Best Drama Series nominees include “Andor,” “Industry,” “Interview With the Vampire,” “The Last of Us,” “Matlock,” “The Pitt,” “Severance” and “The White Lotus”.
Best Comedy Series nominees include “Abbott Elementary,” “English Teacher,” “Hacks,” “Nobody Wants This,” “The Rehearsal,” “Shrinking,” “Somebody Somewhere,” “The Studio” and “What We Do in the Shadows”.
Best Mini-Series/Telemovie nominees include “Adolescence,” “Disclaimer,” “Dying for Sex,” “The Penguin,” “Rebel Ridge,” “Say Nothing,” and “Sirens”
Finally, best news series nominees include “Common Side Effects,” English Teacher,” “Matlock,” “Nobody Wants This,” “North of North,” “Paradise,” “The Pitt” and “The Studio”.
Actors like Adam Scott, Kathy Bates, Noah Wyle, Diego Luna, Jacob Anderson, Stephen Graham, Tramell Tillman, Harrison Ford, Jean Smart, Seth Rogen, Michelle Williams, Harrison Ford and more are up for individual acting honors.
