The first set photos from Ridley Scott’s “The Last Duel” have popped up on social media and show some rather interesting hair and facial hair styles for its trio of stars – Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Adam Driver.
Set in 14th century France, the story follows Norman knight Jean de Carrouges (Driver) who goes to war and returns to accuse his squire Jacques Le Gris (Damon) of raping his wife Margerite de Carrouges (Jodie Comer).
No one will believe Margerite, and Jean appeals to the king of France and says he wants to fight a duel to the death to decide the man’s fate, becoming the last legally sanctioned duel in France. The catch is if the knight loses, his wife will be burned at the stake for punishment for her false accusation.
Damon, Affleck, Scott and Kevin Walsh are producing the film which is scheduled for a limited release on December 25th before opening wide on January 8th.
