The first behind-the-scenes photos are out from the set of George Miller’s “Mad Max: Fury Road” prequel “Furiosa” starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Burke.
The standalone story is expected to dive into the origins of the character portrayed by Charlize Theron in the celebrated 2015 fourth entry in the overall “Mad Max” franchise.
The photos don’t show any stars, just shots of some of the location shooting along with some post-apocalyptic bike riders. Filming is underway in western New South Wales around the Broken Hill and Silverton region where much of “Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior” was shot.
The project is expected to spend a total of AUD $233 million locally, the highest spend ever for a film production in Australia. Miller and Doug Mitchell will produce.
