USA Network has premiered the first trailer and poster for their cable series adaptation of the John Grisham 1995 novel “The Rainmaker”.
In the series, young and fresh out of law school Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) goes head-to-head with courtroom lion Leo Drummond (John Slattery) as well as his law school girlfriend (Madison Iseman).
Rudy, along with his boss (Lana Parrilla) and her dishevelled paralegal (P.J. Byrne), uncovers two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son. The series also stars Dan Fogler, Wade Briggs and Robyn Cara.
“Code Black” and “Intelligence” creator Michael Seitzman is showrunner and co-wrote the pilot with “Stumptown” creator Jason Richman. Both executive produce along with Grisham, Jason Blum and David Gernert for Blumhouse Television and Lionsgate Television.
Francis Ford Coppola directed the prior and well-regarded 1997 film adaptationwhich starred Matt Damon, Claire Danes, Jon Voight, Danny DeVito, Mary Kay Place, Mickey Rourke, Danny Glover, Roy Scheider, Virginia Madsen and Teresa Wright.
The ten episode first season begins August 15th. New episodes will be available to stream on Peacock one week after airing on USA.
