Disney+ has released the first official trailer and poster for its upcoming comedy musical series “The Muppets Mayhem”.
“The Goldbergs” creator Adam F. Goldberg developed and is writing the series with “Muppets” alums Bill Barretta and Jeff Yorkes heavily involved and executive producing.
The ten-episode series follows The Electric Mayhem Band, the old-school Muppet band who set out to record their first-ever platinum album in the current-day music scene.
Lilly Singh plays the (human) lead role of Nora, a driven junior A&R executive tasked with managing and wrangling the band. The band’s regular Muppets include Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, Janie, Zoot, Lips and Animal. Tahj Mowry, Saara Chaudry and Anders Holm also star.
ABC Signature and The Muppets Studio are producing the project with Michael Bostick, Kris Eber, David Lightbody and Leigh Slaughter also executive producing. The series was shot from April to August last year, with much of it filmed in Los Angeles.
“The Muppets Mayhem” premieres on Disney+ on May 10th, with the entire ten-episode run set to release on that day. It marks the first “Muppets” series since “Muppets Now” in 2020 and the first Muppets production since 2021’s “Muppets Haunted Mansion” film.
