Apple TV+ has premiered the trailer for its adult urban horror fantasy series “The Changeling” which will join fellow Apple series like “Silo,” “Foundation” and “Hijack” on the service from next month.
Oscar nominee LaKeith Stanfield, coming off strong reviews for his commendable work in Disney’s otherwise expendable “Haunted Mansion,” stars as a father and husband named Apollo in this adaptation of Victor LaValle’s bestselling novel.
The project is dubbed a “horror story, a parenthood fable and a perilous odyssey through a New York City you didn’t know existed”.
The story follows Apollo as he finds himself crossing into a dark supernatural fairytale world after his wife suddenly disappears following the birth of their son.
Clark Backo, Adina Porter, Samuel T. Herring, Alexis Louder, Jared Abrahamson, with Malcolm Barrett also star. “Cruella” writer Kelly Marcel will write, executive produce and serve as showrunner.
LaValle, Stanfield, Megan Ellison, Patrick Chu, Ali Krug, David Knoller, Jonathan van Tulleken, Sue Naegle, David Wolkis, and Khaliah Neal all executive produce.
The series will premiere on the service from September 8th with three episodes, followed by weekly episodes through until to October 13th.
