An apparent listing on the Disney+ service for “Marvel’s Secret Invasion” via Comicbook.com has indicated the new Marvel Studios event series will premiere on the service on June 21st.
The series is based on the crossover comic event series showcasing a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls having infiltrated Earth for years. It is said to sport a dark espionage thriller tone
Jackson reprises his role as Nick Fury along with returnees Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Martin Freeman as Everett Ross, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos. Also onboard are Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald and Carmen Ejogo.
Meanwhile A24, Peacock and Bryan Fuller’s upcoming “Friday the 13th” prequel television series “Crystal Lake” looks to be coming sometime in 2024.
The original 1980 film’s star Adrienne King will have a recurring role in the series. In recent updates via social media, she indicated the project just had its first writers meeting and it’s all gearing up for a launch next year with the inclusion of the hashtag “#Coming2024” in an Instagram post.
Peacock has given the project a straight-to-series order with the project dubbed an ‘expanded prequel’. Victor Miller, who penned the original film, will also executive produce along with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24.
