Juan Jose Campanella will helm an English-language film adaptation of “Heck: Where the Bad Kids Go” for Spyglass Entertainment reports Heat Vision.
Campanella, who helmed this year’s foreign-language Oscar winner “The Secret in Their Eyes”, will direct the film based on Dale E. Basye’s children’s fantasy novel.
The story follows Milton and Marlo Fauster who die in a marshmallow bear explosion and are sent to an otherworldly reform school where the various teachers are amongst the worst people in history – Lizzie Borden, Blackbeard and Richard Nixon.
The Principal of Darkness also makes it her personal mission to make life terrible for the Fausters who try to find a way to escape.
