“Scream 7” Box-Office Targets Mid-$30M Start

Paramount Pictures

Early tracking estimates are coming in for Paramount and Spyglass Media’s “Scream 7” with the title headed for an opening around the mid-$30 million range.

If those projections hold, it will be the second-highest opening for the franchise to date, behind only the $44.4 million debut of “Scream VI” in 2023.

Right now, the film’s tracking stats have the movie as a higher ‘First Choice’ amongst responders than “Scream VI,” “The Conjuring: Last Rites” and “Final Destination: Bloodlines” at the same point ahead of their release.

Tickets will go on sale on Monday after the film’s pre-Game Super Bowl spot airs (the spot went online this past Monday). It will be one of the bigger openings of the year so far, though next week’s “Wuthering Heights” is reportedly headed for an even larger $40 million debut.

In the film, a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life, her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.

Original “Scream” writer Kevin Williamson directs the film from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson and Guy Busick and a story by James Vanderbilt & Guy Busick.
“Scream 7” opens in cinemas on February 27th.
