Scorsese, Winkler, Carney Plan Gershwin Film

Veteran Hollywood filmmakers Martin Scorsese and Irwin Winkler are teaming with “Once” and “Sing Street” director John Carney on a musical feature inspired by legendary American composer George Gershwin.

Scorsese and Winkler will produce with Carney set to direct and co-write the project titled “Fascinating Rhythm”. The original musical drama follows a young woman’s magical journey through past and present-day New York City, inspired by Gershwin’s life and music.

The Gershwin estate is on board and the film will feature the iconic composer’s music throughout. His best-known works include the likes of “Rhapsody In Blue,” “I Got Rhythm,” “Swanee,” “Summertime” and “They Can’t Take That Away From Me”.
