Warner Bros. Pictures has opted to send its animated film “Scoob!” straight to a premium VOD release rather than wait for cinemas to reopen.
The film will become available to both rent and buy at home on May 15th for $19.99 and $24.99 respectively. The rental period is 48 hours.
No plans are in place for the film, which boasts the voices of Mark Wahlberg and Zac Efron, regarding the streaming service HBO Max which is set to launch May 27th.
Warners has also given a new theatrical release date for Jon M. Chu’s musical drama “In the Heights” which is now set to open June 18th 2021 – a full year later than originally planned.
Based on Lin-Manuel Miranda‘s award-winning Broadway musical, it stars Anthony Ramos, Corey Hawkins and Jimmy Smits.
