Sony Pictures Animation and Point Grey are developing a film based on the 2018 podcast “Bubble”. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg and Matt Tolmach will produce.
Described as an animated pic for mature audiences akin to Rogen and Goldberg’s “Sausage Party,” the podcast ran in 2018 and followed an unlikely group of friends who came together thanks to an Uber-like app for hunting monsters called Huntr.
Jordan Morris, who created the podcast, is writing the script. Kyle Hunter, Ariel Shaffir, James Weaver and David Manpearl are attached as executive producers.
“Sausage Party” was a commercial and critical success, pulling in $140 million worldwide for Sony on a modest $19 million budget.
