Sanders In Talks To Pen “Lilo & Stitch 2”

Disney

Chris Sanders, the filmmaker who co-created, co-wrote and co-directed the 2002 animated “Lilo & Stitch” at Disney, is returning to the fold.

Sanders is reportedly in final negotiations to pen the sequel to Disney’s live-action megahit adaptation of the property, which opened earlier this Summer.

Sanders, who also voiced the character in both the animated and live-action films, is currently only slated to write – not direct.

Whether he will or not depends on other circumstances, including his current project, which is developing a sequel to his highly acclaimed DreamWorks Animation title “The Wild Robot”.

The live-action “Lilo & Stitch” is the only Hollywood film to cross the billion-dollar mark at the worldwide box office this year so far. It debuted to a stunning $183 million domestically over its four-day holiday opening weekend.

Dean Fleischer Camp directed the live-action movie which was written by Chris Kekaniokalani Bright and Mike Van Waes.
