Samuel L. Jackson has signed for a role alongside Chris Pratt in the fully animated “Garfield” film at DNEG Animation and Alcon Entertainment. Sony Pictures will distribute the film globally except China.
Based on Jim Davis’ iconic cartoon strip, Pratt lends his voice to the cynical and lazy orange cat of the same name who must interact with his owner Jon Arbuckle and fellow dog pet Odie.
Jackson will play Vic, a new character who is also Garfield’s father. Mark Dindal (“Chicken Little”) helms from a script by David Reynolds (“Finding Nemo”). John Cohen and Steven P. Wegner are producing.
