Sam Neill & More Join Apple’s “Invasion”

Veteran actor Sam Neill will lead the cast of “Invasion,” a new Apple TV+ series that hails from executive producers Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Dark Phoenix”) and David Weil (“Hunters”).

The story follows an alien invasion through multiple perspectives around the world, and is set across several continents. Production resumed in Manchester last week, following a COVID-19 hiatus.

Neill will play the character of Sheriff John Bell Tyson, a weathered rural lawman on the verge of retirement. “Wynnona Earp” actor Shamier Anderson is Trevante Ward, an extraordinary soldier stationed in Afghanistan.

Golshifteh Farahani (“Body of Lies”) is Aneesha Malik, a first generation Syrian immigrant, wife and mother living in Long Island while Firas Nassar (“Fauda”) plays her successful businessman husband.

Shioli Kutsuna (“Deadpool 2”) is Mitsuki, an intelligent member of mission control in Japan’s space program JASA. Jakob Verbruggen (“The Alienist,” “The Fall”) serves as director and executive producer while Audrey Chon, Elisa Ellis and Amy Kaufman also executive produces.
