Sam Claflin (“Peaky Blinders,” “Enola Holmes”) and Veronica Echegui (“Fortitude”) are set to star in the upcoming romantic comedy “Book of Love” for Sky, XYZ Films and BuzzFeed Studios.
The story follows young, uptight English writer Henry (Claflin), whose novel is a failure… except in Mexico. When he is invited there to promote it, he discovers why: his Spanish translator Maria (Echegui) has rewritten it as an erotic novel.
Henry is furious, especially when his publisher insists he and Maria conduct a book tour together, but soon sparks fly.
Filming begins in March with Analeine Cal Y Mayor (“Treading Water”) directing from a script by David Quantick (“Veep”). Michael Knowles, Naysun Alae-Carew, Allan Niblo, Richard Alan Reid, Nick Spicer and Maxime Cottray produce.
