“Uncut Gems” and “Good Time” directors Josh and Benny Safdie have signed a two-year first look deal with HBO.
A24 will executive produce all projects under the deal made with the pair’s Elara Pictures production company, and the companies will partner on select projects outside the deal.
Should anything be produced under the deal, it would mark the Safdies’ first TV project. Both did appear onscreen in the same episode of the HBO series “Togetherness” in 2016.
A24’s slate of current TV works include HBO’s “Euphoria,” Hulu’s “Ramy” and “At Home With Amy Sedaris,” last year’s celebrated “John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch” special, and the upcoming Joseph Gordon-Levitt led “Mr. Corman” for the Apple TV+ service.
