Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell are in talks to star in and produce the action-comedy “Tough Guys” for Amazon MGM Studios.
In the film, two henchmen are fed up with being ‘disposable’. As a result, they opt to break free from the criminal underworld and rewrite the rules as they abandon their ruthless boss and dodge the elite assassin on their trail.
Daniel Gold (“Longtime Workin’ Moms”) penned the spec screenplay which Gosling loved and brought to Ferrell.
Both are in talks to produce the film alongside Jessie Henderson and Jessica Elbaum.
Gosling’s next film “Project Hail Mary” is being released by Amazon MGM Studios later this year and has a major San Diego Comic-Con panel next week.
Ferrell has worked with the studio on “You’re Cordially Invited” and an upcoming Nicholas Stoller-directed film.
