Ryan Gosling Circling A “Wolfman” Remake

Ryan Gosling is reportedly circling a new take on the Lon Chaney Jr.-led 1941 monster movie “The Wolfman” at Universal Pictures.

Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo penned the script for the update of the classic, this one intended to be a starring vehicle for Gosling.

Unlike the 2010 remake with Benicio del Toro and Emily Blunt, this one will be set in contemporary times with Gosling playing an anchorman who gets infected. The tone is said to be a dark satire of media akin to “Network” and “Nightcrawler”.

No director is currently attached. The film follows on from the success of “The Invisible Man” earlier this year.
