Having directed the last two “Avengers” films for Disney, Joe and Anthony Russo are returning to the studio – this time for a non-Marvel animated feature project.

“Superfudge” will be an adaptation of Judy Blume’s best-selling 1980 children’s book about 12-year-old Peter Hatcher living a good life in Manhattan with a pet turtle, his own room, great parents, and a best friend in Jimmy.

However, he also has a wild three-year-old brother named Farley ‘Fudge’ Drexel Hatcher. When Fudge runs away under Peter’s watch, an epic family adventure across NYC begins. Soon their world is turned upside down by the arrival of a brand-new problem – an infant baby sister.

Amos Vernon and Nunio Randazzo are penning the script while the Russo’s AGBO company will produce.
