Keri Russell (“The Americans”), Ray Liotta (“Marriage Story”), Alden Ehrenreich (“Solo: A Star Wars Story”), O’Shea Jackson (“Straight Outta Compton”) and Jesse Tyler Ferguson (“Modern Family”) have all joined the cast of the Elizabeth Banks-directed character-driven thriller “Cocaine Bear” at Universal Pictures.
Jimmy Warden wrote the script inspired by true events that took place in Kentucky in 1985 when a 175-pound bear was found dead of an apparent cocaine overdose among forty opened containers with traces of the drug.
Said containers were apparently dropped from a plane by a convicted drug smuggler because he was carrying too heavy a load while parachuting.
Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Brian Duffield, Max Handelman and Aditya Sood are producing and filming is set to begin August 23rd in Ireland.
