Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie have joined the cast of the four-part limited series “All the Light We Cannot See” at Netflix.

Aria Mia Loberti will lead the cast of the film as Marie-Laure, a blind French teenager whose path collides with Werner, a German soldier, as they both try to survive the devastation of World War II in occupied France.

Ruffalo will play her caring father, Daniel LeBlanc, the principal locksmith at the Museum of Natural History in Paris. Laurie has been cast as Etienne LeBlanc, an eccentric and reclusive World War I hero turned shut-in suffering from PTSD and working for the French Resistance.

The film is based on Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 2014 novel and will be written by Steven Knight (“Peaky Blinders”) and directed by Shawn Levy (“Stranger Things,” “Free Guy”). Levy, Knight, Dan Levine and Josh Barry executive produce.
