The Paramount Network has handed out a pilot order for “68 Whiskey,” a U.S. remake of Israeli TV series “Charlie Golf One” with Imagine Television Studios and CBS TV Studios set to produce.
Ron Howard will direct and “The Brink” co-creator Roberto Benabib will pen the series which follows a multicultural mix of men and women deployed as army medics at an operating base in Afghanistan nicknamed ‘The Orphanage’.
They endure a dangerous and Kafkaesque world that leads to self-destructive behavior, intense camaraderie and even a sense of purpose. Howard, Benabib, Brian Grazer, Francie Calfo, Zion Rubin, Efrat Shmaya Dror and Danna Stern will executive produce.
The Paramount Network recently ordered a remake of “The First Wives Club” to series, and is riding high on the ratings success of its Kevin Costner-led “Yellowstone”.
