Sony Pictures and Point Grey Pictures have acquired film rights to SNL writer Simon Rich’s New Yorker novella “Sell Out”.
The story follows a man who meets his great-great-grandfather Herschel, who was preserved in brine for a century after a pickle factory accident.
He is baffled by his descendant Simon’s lifestyle as a script doctor in hipster-filled Brooklyn.
“This Is the End” filmmakers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are set to produce, though Rogen will not star.
