Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez (“Alita: Battle Angel,” “Sin City”) has confirmed that he has directed an episode of the upcoming second season of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+.
Rodriguez’s confirmation comes shortly after “Ant-Man” director Peyton Reed announced he would also be joining the list of confirmed directors. The pair join Rick Famuyiwa, Dave Filoni, Carl Weathers and Jon Favreau at the helm of at least six episodes of the new run.
Production on the new season wrapped before the coronavirus pandemic hit. Rosario Dawson and Michael Biehn join returning stars including Pedro Pascal in the title role, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Emily Swallow, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, Nick Nolte, Bill Burr, Julia Jones and Ming-Na Wen.
“The Mandalorian” second season is expected to premiere in October.
