Robert Patrick has scored a major role opposite lead Alan Ritchson in the second season of Amazon’s “Reacher” – the hit action-drama series adaptation of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher novels.
The second season will be based on the eleventh book in the series “Bad Luck and Trouble” in which Reacher investigates the deaths of his friends from his old military unit. Ritchson and Maria Sten return from the first series in their respective Jack Reacher and Frances Neagley roles.
Patrick stepped in to replace Rory Cochrane in the series regular role of Shane Langston – a former NYPD detective turned heads of security for a private defense contractor.
Cochrane was originally cast in September before exiting at the end of last year due to a scheduling conflict. He had not filmed any scenes, so the recasting did not require reshoots. Production on the new season ran between September and February.
Shaun Sipos, Serinda Swan, Ferdinand Kingsley and Domenick Lombardozzi are also among the new season’s cast, with Emmy-nominated writer Nick Santora returning as series writer and executive producer.
The first season ranked among the steaming platform’s top five most-watched series ever in the U.S. and globally and was one of the most-binged original series ever on Prime Video.
