Robert De Niro is coming to Netflix for his first-ever TV series lead role.
De Niro is attached to star in the limited political thriller series “Zero Day” which hails from Eric Newman (“Narcos”) and NBC News president Noah Oppenheim who serve as writers and executive producers.
Exact plot details are under wraps, but De Niro is tipped to play a former U.S. President. The actor hasn’t done a series lead before, but has done telemovies such as HBO’s “Wizard of Lies”.
Newman, Oppenheim, and Pulitzer Prize winner Michael Schmidt created the story, while De Niro and Jonathan Glickman will also executive produce.
