Rob Reiner Reviving Castle Rock Banner

Rob and Michele Reiner have signed a multi-year overall production and directing deal with Warner Bros. Television which will include a revival of the Castle Rock Entertainment production company banner.

Reiner co-founded Castle Rock in 1987 which led to the production of TV shows like “Seinfeld” and 125 films including “When Harry Met Sally…,” “A Few Good Men,” “In the Line of Fire,” “City Slickers,” “Miss Congeniality” and “The Shawshank Redemption” among others.

The company was acquired by Turner Broadcasting and became part of Warner Bros following the Time Warner merger. Though it continued to produce films for Warners, it was eventually disbanded. Reiner kept the name for his indie producing efforts in recent years.

The pact marks the first overall TV deal in Emmy winner Rob Reiner’s career. The pair have put together about a dozen projects which they will take out when network buying starts to pick up amid the pandemic.
