“Jessica Jones” star Krysten Ritter is to direct the first four episodes of the eight-episode “Girl In The Woods,” an adaptation of Crypt TV’s short films “The Door In The Woods” and its sequel “The Girl In The Woods” for Peacock.
Set in the Pacific Northwest, the series follows Carrie’s escape from her mysterious, cult-like colony that guards the world against monsters hidden behind a secret door within the woods.
Kal Penn and Peyton List starred in the originals, but the Peacock series will have a whole new cast. Jacob Chase (“Come Play”) will direct the remaining episodes and Casey Modderno (“The Birch”) will serve as head writer.
Jack Davis and Darren Brandl will serve as executive producers.
