Vinnie Jones, Kaya Scodalerio, Giancarlo Esposito, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson and Peter Serafinowicz are all set to star in Netflix’s “The Gentlemen” series inspired by Guy Ritchie’s 2019 UK gangster film.
The eight-part drama series is set in the world of the 2019 film but not starring the original characters. This one follows Eddie Halstead (Theo James), who has inherited his father’s sizeable estate only to discover that it’s sitting on top of a weed empire owned by the legendary Mickey Pearson (the character Matthew McConaughey played in the film).
Has this straight-up soldier got what it takes to master the dark arts of the British criminal underworld and take control of the entire operation?
Jones will play Geoff Seacombe, the groundskeeper of the estate; Scodalerio will play Susie Glass who oversees Mickey Pearson’s drug business; Ings will play Eddie’s older brother Freddy who owes dangerous people a debt; Richardson will play Eddie and Freddy’s mother Lady Sabrina.
Esposito and Serafinowicz’s roles are unknown. Ritchie is at the helm of the production, serving as creator, co-writer and executive producer and will direct the first two episodes. Matthew Read will co-write and executive produce.
Filming begins November 7th in London.
