Ritchie, Davis Films Get SAG Agreements

20th Century Studios, United Artists Releasing

SAG-AFTRA has handed out more interim agreements for five film projects on Thursday, including waivers with new casting designations.

These new agreements now feature two designations for actors and allow: “members to audition and/or engage in negotiations regarding casting for these productions, but may not yet travel, rehearse, or otherwise begin rendering services for the production.”

In other words, actors can try out for and even sign on for these projects but can’t do any actual acting or promotional work related to them.

Making the list are an untitled Guy Ritchie film, Destry Allyn Spielberg’s directorial debut “Please Don’t Feed the Children” and the titles “Armored,” “Superthief,” and “Return to Wickensburg”.

Also scoring an interim agreement today is the Viola Davis-led action-thriller “G20” which is an MRC production that Amazon will distribute. It’s not clear when the film will go into production.

The guild has granted 102 interim agreements through the close of business Thursday, a majority of the waivers allowing projects not tied to AMPTP studios to film during the SAG-AFTRA strike. They are mostly films, but there are also nine TV projects.
