“Rings of Power” Gets Post-Finale Surge

Amazon Prime

Due to its slow burn start, there’s been talk that Amazon Prime’s “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” series would have worked better as a binge-watch series than a show releasing weekly episodes.

It turns out there may be some truth to that. Parrot Analytics has found that on October 15th, the day after the show aired its season finale, demand for the series skyrocketed – peaking at 55.7 times that of the average series that day and well above where demand for the show has been for most of the season.

On the other hand, weekly episodes only seem to have strengthened HBO’s “House of the Dragon” which also reached new heights with the penultimate episode drawing 62.3 times the demand of the average series and has seen multiple weeks of growing demand.

Parrot Analytics’ data takes into account consumer research, streaming, downloads and social media along with other engagement metrics.
