Pop star Rihanna’s first new music in six years appears in Ryan Coogler’s “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with a song for the feature.
The ballad titled “Lift Me Up” has now been released and has already become the presumptive favorite to take the Best Original Song Oscar with Lady Gaga’s “Top Gun: Maverick” song “Hold My Hand” not far behind.
Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, Tems and Coogler, the song was listed as an end credits song but reportedly plays during a key emotional moment in the film towards its end.
Disney Studios says the track was recorded in five countries and is intended as a “tribute to the extraordinary life and legacy of Chadwick Boseman”.
“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” opens nationwide on November 11th.
