Going beyond just digital shorts, Adult Swim has placed an order for the ten-episode “Rick and Morty” spin-off series “Rick and Morty: The Anime”.
Director Takashi Sano (“Tower of God”) will helm the project which will reportedly stand on its own as an original work even as it will adapt themes and events of the main series.
Sano previously directed acclaimed anime shorts set in the Rick and Morty universe – “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)”.
Adult Swim has also ordered the anime series “Ninja Kamui” from director Sunghoo Park (“God of High School”).
