The new run of “Rick and Morty” is taking a break. Adult Swim has announced that the animated comedy series, which aired the sixth episode of its sixth season last night, is going on hiatus for six weeks.
The final four episodes of the season – “Ricktional Mortpoon’s Rickmas Mortcation”, “Full Meta Jackrick”, “A Rick in King Mortur’s Mort”, and “Analyze Piss” – are slated to begin their run from November 20th.
The first six episodes of the new season saw Rick forced to have more Earth based adventures with his family. At the end of the newest episode, his portal gun is fixed and so the wilder multiverse-hopping shenanigans of the earlier seasons will be back in force for the remainder of the season.
Indeed Adult Swim advises that the extra time will allow fans to “expand your mind in preparation for the rest of the season”. The first five seasons are now streaming on Hulu and HBO Max, with the sixth on Adul Swim’s website.
